Is the $90 kit such a deal that we should buy one even if the recall replacement has already been done?

You can order the repair kit from any Porsche dealer, no proof of anything required. If your harness is 10 years old... no a bad idea to grab one for a rainy day.

Assuming your replacement was recently done, then I wouldn't stockpile another one... unless you're a "belt and suspenpenders" kind of guy. Its $90 wager that your recent harness will go bad sometime in your ownership lifetime. Are you feeling lucky?
