I have to say that if I were in your position, seeing that car I wouldn't be able to keep a cool head... I think it may be the most beautiful 993 I've seen (sorry Steve :-))...

It's gorgeous, RUF VIN or not...

i think the car looks great. Seems like its gone beyond a normal Ruf Turbo R, as it has some CTR parts and upgrades. For a straight TurboR, perhaps i would not pay this price. This car seems more special. Try to negotiate him down, b/c $105k is still very high and there are not alot of people that will pay this ... plus the purist Ruf fanatic may want a Ruf Vin#

If you buy this car, you must keep it and overcome your history of frequent changes. If you have the money, then get it (hopefully at a better price), but i dont think you will get money back easily if you sell it quickly. I think a car like this is a keeper.

Tony,

You're a dog for taunting me with those brakes. You know I want them. Yummy.

I always though it was funny to post the HP numbers down to a hundreth of a horsepower... what is that... one hamster?

Doug, I don't care about bling... I do what I like, and I like the painted shroud. On your SY car, I'd do the intercooler shroud gurads red to match the calipers.

There's always going to be that debate whether or not a Ruf conversion or Ruf VIN constitutes a real Ruf. In Ruf's eyes, they are both just as real. Checkout their website and what they say about their history. Original Ruf cars were all conversions. And it wasn't until later years that they were recognised as a manufacturer by the German government. Hence the Ruf VIN. Though Ruf VIN cars come from Porsche as "bodies in white". I agree with you in that this Ruf is real enough for me. Hence the high asking price.

Wow, that is a nice Ruf. I hope someone here gets it at a reasonable price.

[QUOTE=sfbanchs]. i noticed you talking 550+hp, keep in mind you cant do this with turbos exhaust and ecu remapping alone, the most you'll get there is 520 hp but to cross that hump to 550+you will have to open the engine do the cams and possibly a 3.8 litre conversion. This will greatly diminish the resale potential and second hand buyers ususally will not want to buy a car that has had the engine opened as you will have to do.

Just curious why you think this is the case. I bought a car with many mods and the 3.8 was one of them. I have never seen a 3.8 selling for less than a 3.6? If what you mean is that you will not get your investment back from a 3.8 upgrade then I agree, but resale greatly diminish, I don't know.

If money is not the object then I would go for the ruf. I believe this car has been listed on the Ruf Dallas site at some point and it appears to be a real beauty. I remember seeing in somewhere but I could be wrong. Personally, the car already has a character/history that is known & honored by P-car fans worldwide and your paying for it. At the end of the day its your choice but Ruf has a certain credible reputation to it, if you don't buy it someone else will.

I hope a car like this is available this time next year. I'm hoping to buy a RUF 993TT or RUF 996TT and keep my current 996TT. Heck I will buy back Waldo if I can convince the guy that bought it from me.

It's as close to RUF VIN as you can get.

Seen the car when PCA-Germany region was still a club here along with CP's RUF!...Believe the Pres. name was John but that is a different story. Shame.

My "sources" tell me that this is a done deal... Ima2nr is on his way to pick up the Turbo R. Yehaw and **** howdy... what a car. Dang. Congratulations on a car you will NEVER regret.

We're gonna have to start a Ruf Registry here on Rennlist!
