Well my newly purchased 96 tt is being picked up tomorrow morning at 6 am to begin the journey to Canada via transport. needless to say I am very excited ... I should have it here Friday night. The previous owner has a obd2 reaader "3030 CanOBD2 Car Reader". Is this a product any of you have used? Does anyone just have thecable and plug into laptop with software? what are the advantages? is the software hard to get or expensive, easy or difficult to use? should I send him the $80 and tell him to throw it in the car so I have it no hassle? Do you guys read the codes often?

thanx in advance
Danny

Its not a bad thing to have. I bought the Durametric Software with the 993 cable. After buying the software I was not thoroughly impressed - it works OK for checking, and clearing codes, but unless you have the Factory porsche software appearantly most aftermarket stuff fall a bit short when it comes to reading. However the factory software is far to expensive to consider buying.
