steve what size spacer are you using? i contacted ***** from FVD and he said i needed a 15 mm spacer and it would solve the problem. They are 200 for both andi bought them, hopefully it works, now i am running with no spacers in the rear

thanks for your help

Sebastian,

On my particular Ruf wheels, Ruf supplied a spacer ~26mm thick. I'm not sure what wheels you have or what offset they use. Did you check for missing paint on the rear bumper? If that isn't it, then take a wheel off and carefully inspect the wheel wells and tires for any sign of rubbing. This can help determine if its a spacer that you need.

How do they handle that extra hp?

I'm now running Pirelli corsa rubber, 295/30 rear in 18". they offer untold grip in the dry when they heat up (like driving with glue on the tyres ), in the wet and/or cold on the other hand, they are bad

I called Ruf and asked what they recommended for my set-up. I have 19" Ruf with 28mm spacers for the rears. The recommended tire size was:
285/30/19
245/35/19

I just installed them and am looking forward to seeing how everything works out. According to md11plt this size set-up gives me me the following tire circumferences:
Fronts: 80.84
Rears: 80.90
It doesn't get much closer than that. I think Ruf knows what they were talking about

What do you use in inclement weather?

Getting the Ruf wheels painted hyper silver so I dismounted the tires. For some reason the magnesium wheels are not painted hyper silver like the aluminum wheels are, they are just your average silver. Anyhow, for those that didn't know, Ruf wheels are made by OZ Racing.

Ruf makes their aluminum wheels in a couple of different widths, whereas the magnesium wheels (I think) are only offered in 8.5"/10". My alum wheels are 8.5"/11.0", and I use 255x30x19 front and 315x25x19 rear. These tires fit the wheels perfectly. The hard part is finding a tire manufacturer that makes both of those sizes. I found only two: Yokohama and Toyo, and the Toyo rears were not yet available. I ended up with my old Pirellis on the front and new Conti sport contact 2 on the rear... not ideal to mix, but not horrible either. (Pirelli has discontinued the size I was using oin the rear 305x25x19, hence the switch to conti).

Yes, I bought them a few years ago to put on my 1997 C4 Cab to match the CTR-2 but I never got around to it and then decided to sell them.

Eclou said you may have been looking but I had already committed them by then.

How are you, are you back at the track in full swing, I am on my way to Rennsport in Daytona tomorrow.
