Car off to paint.............<Pictures Added>
Well, the TT looks like crap right now.
I had taken the front and rear bumper(s) and bumperetts along with the side skirts off to be painter body color and cleaned up. Well they came back look so good the whole car is being painted (ok it helped they owed me a few k for computer services).
The car had had paint B4 so this is not popping the paints cherry so to speak. It will still be arena for sure but have 2 nice coats of clear on top.
I am putting in black seats as well and want to do the carpets. As they are showing their age. I did a search and there are several places with carpet kits but nobody actually says that they have bought a kit from anyone. AND emails to these vendors go unanswered.
So has anyone actually replaced their carpet (or taken t our please talk to me if you want to sell it (gray))? If so what were your tips and tricks so to speak?
Ugggh Miss the car. It had already been down for 3 weeks now for another 3.

Tim,
You are too funny. I just gotta laugh. You are so far down the slippery slope, and you've hardly even DRIVEN your car yet. BTW, I feel the exact same way when Rufus is not parked in my garage... its an unhealthy attachment. We're a couple of sickos.
Heres a brand new action shot of Rufus:

Oh you guys.............man, do I know what you mean! Bought my Turbo S in June, drove it home, 2000km, and then gave it to the local Porsche guru's, PR Technology who are thankfully just across the road from my office! Only saving grace for me is that I can walk across the road and stare longingly in the workshop every work day! I secretly think the guys at PRT want to give me my car back and ask me politely to stop bothering them! What am I to do???
I have bought a truckload of parts from Europe and they are on their way to me now. Got an original Porsche Turbos S front coming to replace the GT2 front that is on the car and a new PSS-9 suspension, new gauges, a factory Turbo S aux oil cooler kit, and some GT3 seats in Carbon Fibre/Leather. Im excited but I have to keep checking my limbs........it feels like someone chopped one of em off!
I cant share the Arena Red thing with you two guys.........mine is Midnite Blue and here is the last living photo before surgery......

Grant,
Midnight Blue Turbo S? I love it. Keep us posted as to your progress.
Andy,
Wipers? I'm in So California... I don't need no stinkin' wipers! I also removed the rear wiper and the headlight washers... going for clean and simple, and as aero as possible.

What was involved with removing the rear wiper? Did you leave the post similar to the front or did you take it out and cap the hole in the glass?

Rear wiper delete: takes 10 minutes to remove wiper, post, motor assembly. All easily replaceable. You are left with a 3/4" hole in the glass. 4 options that I know of:
1). replace the glass with a no-hole: nice and expensive
2). Porsche makes an aluminum plug (a 944 part I think)... around $60
3). Aftermarket makes an aluminum plug... around $30
4). If your back window is tinted, you can use a round, black vinyl patch to cover the hole. This is what I did, and it almost is completely invisible. I also used one on the inside.

tim,
I was looking forward to checking out your 993tt at the saturday detailing event...bummer...how much is he charging you for a full repaint? His prices are really good to do the bumpers btw. I will definitely have him do some work in the near future.
