Question ECU UPGRADE

hi , I am new to the forum but have been browsing for a while.I have a 97 993tt an am looking to upgrade power and suspension. The previous owner has changed springs with front being made adjustable(springs are white in colour-recognisable?) I fitted pipes straight out the turbos with the tips slightly tapered and a k&n air filter. We run 95 oct fuel and will like to know what is safe regarding boost levels for the motor.I use the car for a few club track events a year and am looking for more power.I have been speaking to a tuner locally who has been reprogramming ecu's and has been promising good power gains but i would like know more about the safty parameters.
regards

How much you want to spend? Best bang for buck is Kevin's stage 2 or stage 1. Anymore horsepower requires replacing the rods etc., figure 25-35K or so.

Rajen,

These engines will sustain quite some HP unless you are planning to go crazy. You will be fine with most aftermarket stuff and kits withouht needing an engine rebuild.

You need to run a search and choose between many vendors out there, Kevin's (Ultimatemotorwerks) program is excellent it seems, it comes with turbo hybrid conversions, you send him your turbos and he does modifications to them. There are others such as the factory 450HP upgrade, and kits from RUF, Cargraphic, FVD, and a few more, all of them are very solid for a sub-500hp level. For up to 450hp or so, you can get away with your stock K16s, anything after that you need to upgrade to K24 turbos or hybrid K16/24, and the cost will be exponential.

Thumbs up

Jean also forgot to mention who several of us have used; and who not coincidentally
did "a LITTLE work" on Jean's motor:
Todd Knighton of Protomotive. All others above are good and I believe Stephen at I/A
has done a considerable # of 993TT's as well.

good luck in "waking up" the beast within... I sure like mine,

Marty K.

With 95 octane you should be able to run 1 Bar boost safely. Lose the K&N filter, it will ruin your MAF sensor.
