Noisy front differential issue

In my 1996 993 Turbo, it has developed an issue of a noisy front differential. The issue is a constant bearing type noise when going at speeds over 35 mph from the front of the car. So far I have tried a fluid change, and new front wheel bearings, and still have the same annoying noise. To make the issue worse I find there are no serviceable parts on the front diff, the diff is only sold as a complete unit.
Has anyone else seen this or similar issue on any of the all wheel drive cars? Any input would be appreciated.

DO a search. My diff went POW.
Are you 100% sure it is the differential? We got mine in the air (after installing a new diff) and determined the torque tube is the culprit.
You can get a used Diff for 1300 bucks at several dismantlers. If thats not it you return the part.

Car has got 45000 miles.
Any idea on how to determine if it is the diff or torque tube?
I have had the car in the air running, and the diff sounded like the culprit. Could another nearby component make the diff sound like is failing?
