Default Turbo S mods

I own a '97 Turbo S. Two part question. Would putting mods on the car hurt the value? If not, what mods should I do?

You have a fabulous car, but its one of those beasties that's best (for valuation) left absolutely unmolested. I would do NOTHING that couldn't be easily reversed back to absolutely dead stock.

Its one of the disadvantages of having a collector car as opposed to a fun driver.

I would add another discouragement with a collector car... mileage really affects the resale value... such that diving it becomes rather painful if you think about the $/mile costs. Better not to think like that.

And don't get me wrong... I LOVE the turbo S. Its a car I would love to OWN, but would hate to drive.

ddavis,

I'd love to see some pictures of your car. They truely are spectatcular... so many details are different. If you can possibly keep that car AND get a driver, that would be terrific. There are some really nice 993TTs for sale by Rennlist members right now... My previous Arena Red 993TT is now avaliable from his new owner (Iborrel), and LeeR has a slightly modified midnight blue one. I can vouch for both of those cars. I don't know Jsandak, but he's been promoting his car like crazy, and it actually appears pretty nice in the ad. I believe that all of these cars are in the $60k -> $64k range.

Why buy a car that you cant drive / modify because that will affect its value ?

Am I missing something here ?

All the best

How long ago did you sell your TT? It's for sale already?

Arena red is my favorite color.... Had Ocean Blue on my 97 and on a 00 C2 Aero car had Arena Red with a space grey interior... The best color combo I have owned... Space grey was a darker grey with a slight blueish hue..

PM me what you know about both of the cars you mentioned if you would..

Thanks

Interesting - in Germany mods are not well received at all, TTs have to be stock (TT S are actually not available, I have been looking for years..)

I agree - leave it as it is; it's a perfect car anyway
