Default Lifting the TT

Changed oil and brakes today and remembered the first time I changed oil 11 years ago. I had it on a lift and didn't fill the gas tank. As I was waiting for the oil to finish draining, I happened to push up on the front end slightly and it almost flipped off the hoist! Fortunately, I pulled back down in time. At the track isn't the only place these things can be tail happy, so always fill the tank before jacking or lifting.

I will resist any temptation to be sarcastic and just answer yes, the turbos really don't weight that much..... I really answered because I'd like to know what the blown 4-banger in your avatar is.....

Okay, so I didn't apply many brain cells to the fact my 2wd car probably has even less weight in the nose...and not because of the turbos.

My avatar is the heart and soul of a 1330 cc BMC A-Series ground pounding monster. Now, before y'all get to
allow me to point out this pushrod OHV lump, with all its ports siamesed and stranded on the same side of the head, is producing just a tick shy of 100hp per liter displacement at only .6 bar.

The blower is an Eaton M45 and the gent in the car is none other than John Sprinzel of Speedwell Sprite fame. I am much to young and pretty (euphamism for middle aged and fat) to appear in photographs.

At the first dyno session, we made 95hp and 89lb ft torque to the rear tires on .45 bar. Since then we upped the boost, ported the head and added an LCB header. Horsepower now should be right around the ton to the rear wheels on a car weighing 1,600 lbs. Its more than fast enough to outrun its brakes.

...and no, I wont race you for pinks.
