LOL, I seem to be the constabulary favorite radar target on PCH... Seems the police troll these boards. I would perfer a track encounter with the Enzo.

Enzo was still not run-in properly. There's another one as well and that one has been run on the track a few times. Pity, there were no transponder hooked up, so no idea on the times. It was a sight seeing it driven in anger.

The cousin of Khalid is the owner of the GT3 Clubsport, an amazing natural born driver who has competed in the Supercup championship twice and has lapped at 2:06 during those races two weeks ago. His time in this Speed Trip event was 2:23 I believe with his GT3 CS, which was 3 seconds behind my time of 2:20, which shows how strong modded 993TTs can be since I am not an experienced driver.

His time of 2:23 vs. his best of 2:06 during the Supercup race 2 weeks ago also shows the amazing difference there is between a GT3 CS and a 997 Supercup car, same driver, 17 seconds difference.

Hope it clarifies it a bit, sorry for the confusion.
This thread in fact is contrary to my earlier beliefs that our old aircooled TTs are history, I was very surprised by how well they can keep up even in 2WD mode and stock LSD.
Makes sense now!

How did the drags go? Did you line up against the other high powered cars?

Gotta say congratulations to a job well done.

Gotta ask, how did the CTR-2 hold up, no mention of it other than at the begining. Enquiring owners want to know.

Thanks

CTR 2 wasn't registered to participate. It participated in another track day last year and it was FAST. The RUF IRC does so much for these cars, they are a more solid platform of it.

Jim
I set my car on the strip for 1.2 Bar for the first time ever, had a tremendous launch which left the factory Lambo several meters back within a couple of seconds, but then one of my wastegate pressure hoses (external wastegates) came off due to the high pressure I guess, so I continued with the car spitting fire madly (to the delight of the crowd) and chukkling. I thought I blew a piston at best, so cruised for the last 1/8th. I am adding clamps to the hoses now.
For traction, I am only counting on the Hoosiers and my LSD once I install the sequential gearbox. I just love the 2WD setup, it is so much fun.

A pic of my car at the drag against the Corvette, I ended up not running because of the gone wastegate hose, he ran an 11.5 s.

Cooper S "attacking the Apex" in the real sense!

993TT lightweight with a Gemballa 600 engine and excellent driver

Our Harley "brothers" and next picture, our Harley "sisters"

A picture of a few cars and owners

I hope this was not too painful!

Jean,
thanks for the pics by the way, makes me want to come to Bahrain/Dubai
more than ever. (Have you heard from Scott since he left the states?)
Which of the 996TT cars were most impressive?
Any EVOMS cars there?
Any Ruf 996TT based cars there?
thanks in advance.

Marty
You should try coming here, this is a motorheads' paradise. Yes I heard from Scott, he is on duty in Bahrain already. I will catch up with him next time I am there to pick up my car.
The GT 700-800-900 ? EVOMS car was registered but the owner could not make it unfortunately due to a personal problem.
No RUFs were racing, there was a Turbo S modified by 9FF and a gorgeous Roock 640 RST, both were strong but did not really shine.
