Found this 1996 Arena Red on eBay. I have no affiliation with this car other than it may be an opportunity to pick up a 1996 at a price. It was involved in a fresh water street flood in San Rafael, CA. It has 39K miles and the seller's reserve is $50,000. May not be worth it for someone wanting to register in CA but may work for those outside of our great state.

Stay far away from that car!!!
It has had a very tough life. It was a rollover years ago. There is no salvage title for the rollover because it did not go through insurance. Also the car can never be registered in the state of california due to some silly rule.
I know the entire history of that car. It should be parted out and put to rest!!!!

He is also not being 100% honest about the "fresh" water flood. The river that overflowed and flooded the area is connected to the salt water bay less than 2 miles away. During high tide water is drawn back up into the river from the bay. Guess when the flooding occured? Yup during high tide the river overflowed.
At the auction you could only bid on this car if you had a special salvage dealers license. California feels so strongly about this type of salvage title that it won't allow it to be registered in the state again. What does that tell you?
If this poor car hits the streets again it will be plaged with weird problems related to this flood for the rest of its life.
I live in San Rafael. I know the car and it previous owner who purchased the car and repaired it from the rollover.
The car is worth what this guy paid for it (and I do know that). It should be parted out and put to rest.

Interesting...I got the same response from the seller. I reponded that the car may have been involved in a roll-over just in case it becomes a liability.

Holy Cow! Less than $25K for a car that runs? How do I get one of these special salvage dealers licenses? That would be a great start for a heck of a track car.
