Wow, I thought I did upgrade my TT! Well then where the hell did all that money go Bob??? I did consider finding a beat up TT (if possible) and gutting it and turning into a monster(mine was too pretty). But by the time you've invested all that money you could have bought a new Cup or RSR and had the modern techology and reliability. And I don't believe horsepower and torque are the determining factors on a track. While debatable to a degree, the superior technology and reliability in the GT3/RSR platform place the car at the front of the race pretty much every time, driver permitting.

Of course I miss the TT expecially watching Jim's *** heading off into the sunset. But at the end of the day I'll run the faster laps and my brakes will be stronger. Weight plays an enormous factor and Jim's and VB pretty much explored those limits. Now if you throw a 993-GT2 into the mix all bets are off....

Probably about right. We were trading places a lot and that was our last run of the day. I think I had 13 cycles on those slicks, and Jim's tires and brakes were getting pretty tired of holding onto 3200 lbs.
I haven't gotten where I want/need to be yet to be competitive. I've hit low 1:28's, I'll need to be in the 1:24-25's to be really competitive.

These statements pretty much sumarize many a TT owners dilema, including my own. Many a 993tt owners problems could be solved if 993-GT2's were obtainable within reason $ for street & track use here in the states.

Yea they're pretty incredible machines. There is one in my mechanic's stable that I get to follow around occasionally. Very special cars. It won our POC 4 hour "Tribute To Le Mans" last year. Pic below.....

Don't know if it makes you happier, but they are not available in RoW within reason $ either

That's about right. Cup cars have incredible braking. You can see how much time John can make up under braking. The weight catches up with you after about 4-5 laps. My best time is a 1:28., which is not bad for a street car that almost stock. John will be in the mid 1:26's with a few more events.

This video is a good barometer to test how much you have to do to a street car to stay with a real race car.
