Beautiful engine Tal, should have it sitting in the living room!

I had seen this engine somewhere else and was surprised by the different approach that FVD took with it, using Garretts, using Bob Holcombe for the intercooler and TBs...and then RS Tuning for the dyno session? It looks like it is a converted N/A engine..

Can you elaborate more about the build please. This Bar and plate core used by MODE looks the same as mine.
If you don't mind sharing the RS Tuning engine dyno sheet either on the forum or through PM I would appreciate it, I am interested to see how different a Motec individual TBs and BB turbos behave.
Good luck with the tune-up, the only good Motec tuner I know of in the area is in Sharjah, let me kow if you need his number.
Cheers

Hi Jean
This engine was first built by FVD 5 years ago for a friend of mine who has a 993 C4S here in Israel, he consulted the best Porsche tuners and came up with this unique configuration, in the beginning ***** from FVD didn't like it( TB's, Carrillos, MoTec,KKK 27...) but my friend insisted, after it was built it was tuned by Mike from MoTec UK on RS Tuning dyno, the engine produced 842 Hp 1.5 Bar I'll scan the dyno sheets and send them to you. the car was very fast , two years ago a video showing it beating Yamaha R1 2003 in quarter was shown here in Rennlist, If I find it I'll post it.
A year ago the engine was sent to FVD for refreshment and upgrades, specially made crankshaft, new RS 109mm case, new Porsche Motorsport pistons the CR was raised from 7.3 to 8, mod'd heads and new GT turbos specially desigened by Ray Hall, while it was in FVD I bought it , I just got it and I'm in the process
Tal

That's quite an interesting pedigree and very different from what Bombarcher's Motronic setups are like.. I think I have seen that video (at night?) but don't have any numbers on the quarter.
Yes I would be interested to see the RS dyno chart Looking forward to see more about your car.
Thanks

You just made my evening. That is really neat. You could have told us it had come right off a Porsche display at a car show. Pretty cool...

Any pictures outside the bay? Did you notice any loss in low rpm torque with the larger primaries? Do you have proper collectors (size?) on these compared to OEM?

I'm in an early stage of building mine with ITB's and TT and am just curious .

Beautiful, goes without saying

That engine looks familiar
Here is a photo of it when it was built the first time (in case anyone didn't see my post before). This is the motor that actually made 1000PS when it was first built, but the other components couldn't handle it so it was taken down to 800PS!

Congrats on one badass motor!!

I have not seen the dyno charts yet Tal you were going to send them? I guess the engine should be back home now and running hopefully. Any updates?

Hi Jean
Sorry I haven't sent you the ****s, I'm very busy lately , I'll try to do it this week, I also haven't had time to finish the tuning, I don't like the headers setup so I limit myself to .7 Bar, I'm looking for better setup might take time, I'll keep you all updated.
Tal
