TB, factory pressures for a 993GT2 (in effect what you now have only faster!) are 33psi Front and 38psi rear for 235/40/18 and 285/35/18.

I would never run them this high, around 30/32psi cold for road tyres unless you are running lots of negative camber in which case you may like to increase the rears a couple of psi to preserve the inner edge of the tyre.

I kept the power steering. These are not svelt RSAs at 2700ish lbs. These are still 3300 lb cars with a lot of power. If you were putting your TT on a severe diet and making it more of a track only car, then I would remove the power steering and power clutch altogether (the clutch is the most complicated piece on the car).

Thanks for ALL the input - this above is particularly interesting, what Porsche recommended for trhe GT2. Since Porsche always seem to recommend high cold pressure numbers (no doubt as a failsafe for high speed runners) then dropping to the 30/32 cold should be no problem - I'm going to try 33/36 and see how it feels

Sorry for the OT but everytime I see you both (RS Clubsport and TB993TT) here it sort of reminds me

What ever happened to that famous shootout? I am still very anxiously waiting to see how the 9M 540HP compares to the RS horses, especially now that the weight is very similar. I know the weather does not help you there guys

RS would you be able to post some 60-130mph runs, on an AX22 or other, for us to compare with TB and other 500+ engines around here?

That would be very interesting. Thanks.

Hi Jean

I have not heard any more from Chris Harris for some time, so don't think the article for the magazine will come off.

However I'm still up for it and think TB and I will set something up for when the weather is better with some of the other guys as well.

2 questions- (based on ignorance)
1- why does porsche recommend 44 psi on the stock rear TT tires? would this not be dangerous as the rear would get very squirly at 44. And, why do the recommend 8 psi lower in tfront for 36?
2- TB, is your 285 still far on the narrow side for your wide rims?... even the stock 996TT tire is 295 on an 11inch rim. Perhaps i dont get it...

thanks,.. and btw, TB, your car looks so great.
