Default Loose nut by fan belts-where'd it go?

Well, hoping to get a last run in at Gingerman tomorrow, was just removing the intercooler and one of the large nuts nearest the fan belts fell.
Landed in the tray below the fan belts.
I tried to get it and it disappeared underneath the fan belts/pulleys.
So much for the last run of the season, lol.
Anyway, any suggestions? Can't even see the darn thing now.
Thanks

If you turn the car over and shake well....... Try probing the area with a magnet on a stick.

Do you men the engine undertray? That comes out in about 2 minutes - it's all held on by Dzus fasteners, turn 'em and the tray pops off.

Like Don said, use a small magnet on a stick (or a wire like a coat hanger sometimes works better).

If it's dropped into the well underneath the belt pulley on the end of the crank shaft it's worth getting underneath the car to push something up through the slot in the bottom of the well. It might even have slipped through and be sitting on the engine tray.

A magnetic tool on the end of a bendable spring shaft can also be pushed through from above around the bottom of the pulley almost taking the same route the belt would.

I remember searching for a belt shim on a friend's 914-6 perhaps 20 years ago. The mid engine made getting access to the area under the pulley a tiny bit of a challenge.
