Default New 993TT Owner

Well folks it looks like it should be official by the end of today. I will be the proud owner of 'Waldo'. The car is having some goodies intalled and hopefully I will be able to pick it up by the end of this week. I should have a nice drive from California to the ALMS event in Portland this weekend. If not Steve will have a chance to compare 'Waldo' to 'Rufus' before I can fly down to pick up the car.

pjconner: Thanks. I love the fact that this car is tastefully modified. Of course I will get the bug later on to do something else. Hopefully much later.

As much as I hate to see Waldo go, I have checked iborroel's references, and examined detailed photos of Waldo's new home. I will reluctantly agree to let Waldo have a new owner. Waldo may be the prettiest 993TT I have seen, and will certainly be among the strongest, once he gets his new GT1 turbos bolted on (today? tomorrow?). If I hadn't stumbled upon Rufus, Waldo would have been mine forever.

An irony: I volunteered to look at another 993TT (local) for iborroel a few months ago. He decided to pass on that one. He certainly made the right choice!

I think I made the right choice on passing on the car you went to check out for me a couple of months ago. I am getting a fine exmaple of a 993TT. Hey at least it will still be part of the Rennlist family.

Woodster: I usually hang out on the 944 turbo forum but lurk on this one. Well now I have the 993TT to add to the turbo family (944 turbo, Audi TT). The car is set up well so I don't think I will have a need to modify it. Of course I say that now. I might change my mind in the future. If the planets align and everything is in place I may be able to pick up the car Thursday night. Now to keep my fingers crossed and say a few prayers.

Waldo went on sale too soon or I would have probably snapped it up! Great buy and I wish you all the joy in the world.

steve, please post your thoughts on the difference between Waldo with a chip and hybrid turbos versus the Ruf Turbo R. It would be interesting for all of us who are still debating which way to upgrade our TT.
thanks.
again, congrats on both the sale of Waldo and the new Ruf.

Rob 97 993c2: I don't know if Steve will have a chance to compare the two cars. If 'Waldo' will be done by Thursday I am flying down to pick it up. Therefore there will not be a chance to compare the two since the turbos will not be broken in properly. Who knows maybe Steve can put in a couple hundred miles on it before I arrive. This way we can do a comparison run.
