I had a custom cage welded into the car, which is in my opinion a better, less intrusive cage than the Clubsport cage. Engine wise 540bhp and car weighs 1290kgs making for swift progress. Even though the car had only done 15k miles from new, had complete engine/diff/gearbox strip and rebuild and alluminium inserts between heads and barrels to stop any oil leaks.

Car is in the shop for service and new brakes before next week's trip to the 'ring. I'll post some interior shots and some of the engine next week.

RS,

Was it Manthey Motors that did the engine upgrade? Or perhaps someone else?

Rasel, Car was modified by the most technically skilled Porsche engine tuners in the UK. The company is called Ninemeister and is based in North West England. My car is a 1998 and had K24's as standard. The original owner had a Roock conversion which was supposed to pump out 480bhp. When I got the car home and had it dynoed it was putting out 418bhp - less than stock!

Ninemeister fitted larger injectors, new wastegate actuators and spent several days mapping it. Only other item was an Apexi boost controller to stop the occasional 'spike' in the boost.

Result 540bhp and 801nm of torque! Car has never missed a beat, and is used on track very regularly. Off to the Nordschleife on Tuesday with Manthey Motors.

Yes Colin has been here on the forum and seems like he was speaking about your car.

The last car we worked on was exasperating. It was a GT2 with K24's that refused to hold a steady 1.0bar, and even after pulling the base setting back to 0.9bar on the dyno it would flash 1.1 on the road in certain conditions.

When the car came back in I fitted an Apexi AVC-R and mapped it to 1.0 bar on the dyno, and it would flash to just 1.03bar but a slight tweek of the 4500 duty cycle point prevented MAF limit intervention. On the road it held rock steady at 0.99bar in any gear. On the dyno it made 544bhp & 755Nm, putting down 485bhp at the tyre.

Reluctantly we now recognise an external boost controller as probably the best way forward when you are tuning to over 500bhp with over 0.9bar.
Gorgeous car.

The car in Colin's post is my friends silver 993GT2. Mine has now had the same addition made and makes slightly less bhp and slightly more torque.
