HI Jeff,

I know Prototech is is the SE Protomotive rep. I have seen their work. Mine was done by the Protomotive rep in New Jersey. I bought it with 14K miles and 1500 on the conversion. I have 16K miles now. Only problem is I can't get it to register with a OBDII. I have the ca registerded where I don't have emission testing so is no biggie now. I will say, the car is very quick and the newer conversions are better with less lag. You will enjoy, i am sure.

Welcome aboard. Why don't think on a tt engine swap? I found mine in Germany and came with all necesary for installation. The only mod you need is the ECU reprogrammed by dealer or other shop like Protomotive.

Jeff

Beautiful car. Welcome. I hear Prototech are very good too but you need to stay on top of them. There have been some cases of unhappy customers that I have read on this board, no personal experience. Protomotive, and dealing with Todd Knighton is first class. I would go stage 1+ or 2 if within budget, you will very soon want it.

SinfulSteve, did you ever get a chance to time a 60-130 with your car?

Corte, cheers amigo, its been a while.

Sorry for a quick OT..
I wish I could go for a month and a half on vacation San Marino, not Barcelona! All the details about my car are somewhere in an earlier thread. Best.

Corte Loco

I thought about purchasing a tt engine but I knew i will still end up inside in the near future (rods, crank, pistons, etc...) I did the same thing with my boat. Started of with a 454 and ended up putting in a 565 cu.in. dart engine (yes I am a horsepower freak). So ultimately it was a wash.

Jean ; The ot is not a problem. It adds intrest.

Ah ... I thought you were going for a full factory TT conversion. Your project sounds like much more fun!

Hi Jeff,

Never have timed my car. My 88 with 3.6 twin plug, Motec, and other enhancements (it could chirp the tires in hitting third) I believe would have pulled my current car in first gear, maybe second, but no further. I will say you will have a whole new driving experience. I took a guy that has a 996 C4S for a spin. He was in awe. I drove his car, nice linear acceleration. 100 MPH comes up very fast in our cars and I don;t think linear describes it very well. . I have only had it up to 130 and was being irresponsible then. I need to change the oil, & then I will get one of those accerometers or what ever they are and do some runs. I'm very interested myself in what the car will really do. BTW, I do not have turbo scrips on my car. Only the C4S badge. If I could go with the regular automatic wing I would. I like the stealth (if you can call my car stealth).

Beautiful car. Maybe this is a stupid question...... are they rebuilding the entire motor, including lower compression pistons?

No, this is just a stage one conversion (turbo's intercooler, electronics etc...). It will use all of the same parts on the stage two. except the internals will change. The next move will be in a year or two and then i am going to step on it. new rods, pistons, injectors etc...

Never a stupid question and thanks.

Project starts on June 27th. For those of you with a mongrel, did you use the factory boost gauge or replace the clock with an aftermarket piece. I probably will not put one in the console.

Default Nice car...

Reminds me of my c2s that looked pretty much the same as your car now only in white. I bought a factory wing off of Andial, did the carbon, sport seets, coil overs, sway bars, the works. One thing that always seperates is the wiper on the back.

As far as badging, I always like the clean 911 and not turbo or carrera. IMO

Nice, good luck.

Marty
