Default Oil Leak Fix

I had been noticing the occational drops of oil under my right side turbo. I could see some general moisture but I was not blowing any smoke or consuming a great deal of oil. I looked under the car one morning about 3 days after the last engine run and there was an area of oil about 18" x 2". So I jacked up the car to investigate. I could tell the fluid was coming from high up on the engine compartment but did not take off the intercooler to gain more access. I took the car to the shop and they immediately said power steering fluid. But what I had seen was brown oily Mobil one like fluid. They cleaned off the right side of the engine and found the power steering banjo a full turn loose. I was still a little skeptical. I spent the next three days at the track and not a drop of fluid. I guess the power steering fluid was collecting engine grime and floor grime to look like oil to me. Problem solved .

Now you have no excuse to pull your turbos and upgrade...damn those competent shop techs.

That was a cheap fix....congrats

A little scare, but good outcome. No turbos but looking at camber plates.

I came off the track a few weeks ago at Cal Speedway and ran into Viper Bob who told me I was blowing smoke out from the right rear wheel well. Fortunately he knew it was that same power steering fitting and we pulled the intercooler and tightened it down....something to check occasionally.

Be sure that fitting has the copper washers, early cars had aluminum that was more prone to leakage. Easy to replace.

Had the same issue with my car too, thought it was oil but it was the powersteering fluid.
