Default tire size question

my 993 turbo has RUF 9 and 11's by 19' inch wheels
front tire 245/35, rear 285/30

i am thinking of switching to 295/30 on the rears since the 285's look a little narrow on the 11 inch wheel. anyone know of a problem doing this?

the 245's are 25.8 dia
285's are 25.7
295's are 26.0

are the diameter differences ok considering 4 wd and abs system on these cars

thanks

You'll be fine with that combo. I ran it on my spreadsheet and the ratio was .83, which is fine. I run 245/35/18 and 315/30/18 and my ABS works fine....

Default 295/30-18 Michelin Pilots on 993tt

I replaced my 285/30-18 Michelin Pilot Sports on the rear of my car with 295/30-18s and run without problems. The new tires don't have as radical a tread but seem to work well.

Does anyone run 235/40/18 and 295/30/18? The overall diameter of these should be fine with the AWD system.

E36S50;

I'm using 235/40 and 295/30/18 Michelin Pilot Sport Cups on my stock 8 and 10" hollow spokes. They work fine. There are some other people that are also using that tire size combination.

This discussion is timely as my car was equiped with 245/35/18 x 295/35/18 (Toyo's on BBS LM 8" & 11") when I bought it and need to correct this problem.

Looking at the Michelin tire chart for Pilot Sports, a perfect match in dia. and revs/mile would be 235/40 frt. by 315/30 rear. Any experience with 315 on the rear of a TT?

The stock tire sizes are out of ratio by 11 revolutions / mile. The front and rear differentials have the same ratio, is there ratio compensation in the transfer case to make up the difference in the stock front to rear tire imbalance?

Thanks
Dave

Dave
I have the Sport Cup in 315 in the rear with 12" rims. They are huge tires (wider than regular non "R" 315s) and unless you really need them I would not use them. 245/295 is a good combo IMO.
