Default Dayton

Its about time.

Thanks for the words. I have to say bolt-on is just easier to deal with. Anyhow, I am still going to have Felix give me the exact details of the engine and I will post them when I get them.

As far as the FVD P & C's. If I am not mistaken they are not custom(R&D) for FVD. But modeled after another brand. Dayton could shed some lite on this.

Andial does have good stuff.

Remember I took this motor in the back of a toyota truck to Andial. They would only do it it they did it there way. Twin plug, Mahle etc. and 50K. If I had used the turbos that I sent felix with the car the rebuild would have been 22K. I think I spent around 30K

I think one of the main reasons people do this is that Porsche swicthed back to solid lifters in the 993 Cups. I think the redline in those was around 7000.

Marty
30K US does not go very far on tuning these - my latest upgrade (Latest model turbos/full race exhaust inc cats/clutch/engine dyno time) cost this much.
What is the quote ? Fast Reliable Cheap - you can have any two but not all three.
You have a good set up, but without twinplug, Mahle and custom programming
your motor is cheaper than it could have been - see quote above.
I would just enjoy it and not beat yourself up on the spec

Default Either you got robbed or

I got cheated. But all kidding aside I will post all mods indetail and overall cost for the board just as soon as I get it all figured out. My motor was also bluprinted and the entire trans gone thru. New first and second gears. And a huge list a parts, so I think I got a good deal. But like I said I will post all mods and descriptions.

Holy crap. Are they charging 1k/hr on the dyno?

RS Tuning and Euro effect, very likely

Marty, yes you got a good deal, 50k USD is sick money but realistic for the kind of work Andial and some others do, actually, they quoted me $47k for their twin plug beast..

Nice one
If all your work cost "only" 30K US, you got a great deal - FVD lists its 550hp 3.8 package at about 18K US so including all your other internal work + flame rings and the gear work, it sounds like very good value
Poorb0yw
The engine dyno time seems to break down to about $1800 US per day and it took 4 days - The special 996tt K24/26RS race turbos which had to be redone by KKK to fit the 993tt were $5200 US each and how about $5100 US for the race cats although the euro effect does inflate these numbers somewhat, I think maybe Marty was right

I just wanted to comment on the mechanical rocker arms vs. Hydro, The reason why we change the
hydro for the mechanical is because at high rpm the hydro tend to float. Mech do not float ( just a better set up for a high hp motor. The down side is that they need more service than the hydro which is why porsche switched in the 993.
cheers
Bryan
