[QUOTE=Rob 97 993c2]2 ignorant questions:
1- beyond looks, whats the real difference between 993TT and 996TT wheels?

996TT rear wheels are 11 inch allowing for a wider tire and fit the wide body much better.

If I remember correctly, hollow spokes have two indented ribs on the back sides of the spoke portion of the wheel. Solid wheels are smooth behind the spoke.

Steve,

I could be wrong but I think it is just the opposite. The hollow spokes have a smooth surface and solid have the ribs.

Steve & Scott,

I'll double check on that tonight on my 993TT hollows.

Look at the 993 forum, someone brought that up today (18" hollowspokes) and there are pics. Hollow spokes have a smooth surface on the back of the spoke.

Default Funny Thing...

I was reading this thread and laughing. I take my wheels off my car when I wax/wash it so I have always known. Maybe I clean to much.

Tony those rims fit perfectly on your beautiful car. With the Turbo S ducts, your color-matched hard back seats, and your new suspension, your car ROCKS!
Now for your next mod....did you see the Turbo S front bumper on Ran's Polar Silver TT which is listed for sale? Looks really good......

VB,

Thanks... did you notice the color of the 996TT wheels...? I know the pics are crappy. The color is a darker silver (almost graphite) because they came off of a Turbo S. Also I am only running 285s for now.... I can't wait to put on 315s

JRG,

I know, they look really sweet. I know Gert has them.... hmmmm, I think I am good for now
