Default Removing wear seat backs

Has anybody had any issues with removing the rear seat backs? On the outer hinge of each seat back it appears to be affixed with a flat head screw. I've broken two screw drivers trying to loosen these. Is there a special tool or should I be using a REALLY beafy flat head screw driver?

TIA,

Default Removing wear window wiper

Is there a kit available to plug up the hole where the rear wiper spindle pokes thru? I'm in the process of removing the wiper motor and assembly. Viperbob mentioned that there are parts to do so, but he's being a poor sport and away on vacation while the rest of us neophyte 993TT DIY'ers are left scratching our heads

TIA,

I just had this problem a couple weeks ago and was saved by this board. You need a giant slotted screwdriver-one with a nut at the base of the handle(for lack of the correct term) Then put a wrench on it and it will come.Someone else put visegrips on the screwdriver with success.
BTW my giant screwdriver is one of my favorite tools and comes in handy alot.

Giant tools are cool. I got a 21/32 tie rod separator yesterday and the thing is freaking huge.

I went to Sears and bought the biggest slotted screw driver they had and it worked like a charm. After having removed my reat seat backs, wear wiper and motor assembly, the total weight lost was appr 18lbs on my bathroom scale. I think I might go an purchase a more accurate scale. I'm getting pretty fanatical with this weight TT weight loss program. This last project brings the weight loss to about 133lbs.
