Squeek from infront of driver .. ??
my new TT has 30k and came to me lowered with eibach springs
When I do a sharp turn (60-90 degrees) at low speed on surburban roads, there is a strange noise that seems to come from in front of the steering column. Car seems fine on higher speed sweeping turns.
My machanic suggested it is due to the car being lowered and that the trailing arm is at a different angle and is rubbing a little. He said it isnt worth doing anything to correct this as he didnt want to run up a big bill for me by putting spacers or something else here.
Any ideas or suggestions? I dont have enough knowledge here.
thanks,
rob

Rob,
Two thoughts:
(1) Sway bar bushing collars may be loose, or rubber bushings themselves need to be lubed or replaced.
(2) The springs could be moving slightly in their perches. This happens with my PSS-9 dual springs.
Good luck!
