The ECU is different, more options in 97/98 like power kits and so on. I think in 95 was ODI and OBII 96 and later.

Porsche 993 turbo's 1995 are mentioned on the Porsche website, I never seen one. Maybe for the European/Asian market.

All 993tt are Motronic 5.4, right from day 1. These are all OBD2 compliant 88 pins systems

All 94/95 n/a and all RoW 993 n/a are Motronic 2.1. These are OBD1 complaint 55 pin systems

all US '96up n/ a 993 are Motronic 5.4

Hi Bill.

Why in my 993tt workshop manuals there is 2 electrical "engine, fuel, ignition" diagrams? M2.10 and M5.2

The manuals cover all the bases n/a and turbo

I mistyped, it's M5.2

an easy check is to count the # of O sensors on the exhaust
1 is M2.1 or earlier
4 is M5.1 or later

The DME itself comes in multiple versions w/ the big difference '96 is a one year only dual non flushable chip design and '97/98 a single flushable chip design

Yes the manual cover all bases but the electrical schematics mention 993 turbo M2.1 and those 2 additional 993 turbo manuals are specific to turbo's.Also I have the 993 turbo OBD trouble shooting manual and it mention the M2.1 for turbo's. Weird and confusing.

Like I said before I never seen a 95 993 turbo but there was some 95 993 turbo made with special wishes for the Middle East and asian market. Porsche website mention only 14 turbo cabs produced in 1995.

i still have the Porsche Technical Training course materials for 964 and 993 , vol P21 'Fuel and inanition Systems' clearly states all 993 tt are M5.2

I've heard of the 14 turbo cabs from "95 but if so they were likely some sort of Sunder Wunsch or pre-production version

Also : ‘97 has Light above ignition, stronger transmission input shaft, switch in clutch pedal so you have to depress the pedal when starting.
