Found recently on Facebook marketplace a sought after 993 turbo (450hp) ECU with matching KKK K24 turbo's that was forgotten on a shelve for 24 years, I bought the set-up at a very decent price in CDN$$, Apparently the set up was used for less than a summer in 1999 and originally purchased from Gert Carnewal.

So are installing it in your car? If so are you having the turbos rebuilt?

Yes I will install the kit in my car, the K24 turbo's are almost new so I'm not concerned, I'm worried about my older I/C pressure hoses if they will hold the extra .2bar pressure, We'll see.

Thanks Kein! When I saw the post on my local Facebook Marketplace I couldn't believe it, I've been chasing that particular ECU for a very long time, seldom seen on the used market and at a very high asking price. I couldn't justify the price of a new one especially for just an added .2bar of boost and the K24"s were an added bonus to the deal.

The power kit car in its original boxes and hardly any wear on the turbo's. I could tell the kit was stored for a very long time and forgotten.

Nice find , I have had a TT S ecu for a few years and the straight pipes , just acquired rebuilt k24’s last month , will you run a higher
fuel pressure regulator ?
Heard from a tech the S ecu may not respond correctly without it … thanks Bert

Hi Bert.

I'm not planning to run a higher fuel pressure regulator before I test the package, I was told the actual 993TT fuel system can handle up to 500hp, so an extra 40 hp won't make much of a difference in fuel demand. Also I'm running an unrestricted 3" X pipe that I built myself, I prefer the merging sound of 6 cylinders than 3 cylinders per pipes, you get to hear a louder high pitch winning sound of the turbo's with the merge pipe.

I'll keep you posted how it goes.

Happy holidays. Anthony.

Maybe a quick call or an email to Todd at Protomotive might be beneficial. Todd says a higher FPR when modding the 993 Turbo (for more power) is more for safety than just HP. It’s cheap insurance.

yup sounds more like a regular car with the cross over / merge. Nice welds! I’ve had my diy cross over 3” pipes for ? 10 years. I like the sound but mine’s a bit loud and after all this time, I’m considering going back to stockish (I have a set with gutted cats) for the motorboat sound which is unique to our cars 🙂. (I have a few other cars now with merged exhausts and nice intake sounds) I hear the turbos but the exhaust sound drowns them out a bit. Not sure I hear my turbos any louder.

Definitely log your a/f ratios with the new set up. I have a 5bar fpr in the Andial (and had 5bar in the umw stage 2 and protomotive k24/maf resistor/external boost regulator set ups). I’m also running 2 fuel pumps, Andial runs on the edge in harder conditions.
