Guys, I am thinking about buying a 993 Turbo, in Europe it is very difficult to find a car with low mileage for an acceptable amount of money.
For a car with a mileage of 100,000 kilometers or 62,000 miles, you also have to pay a lot, because around 180,000-200,000 euros, of course, the car has first paint.
What is your experience with the 993 turbo with such mileage?
I know it's important for a car like this to have a good service history.
Do you think it makes sense to buy a car with this mileage?
My 964 turbo now has 21,000km on it which is less than 13,000 miles and is in perfect condition.
Bought well documented higher mileage example a few years ago. Nothing major yet other than things to be expected in a 25 year old car (suspension renewal, bushings etc). Car had been driven but also maintained. I don’t sense these cars are more or less brittle than any other 911.
The higher mileage also releases one from worrying about driving it too much…
76k miles when I sold it last year - has been running very reliably over my 10 years of ownership (after addressing some issues upfront when I first bought it 11 years ago).
170k miles. Bought it 21 years ago as a daily. Now I’ve retired it but still a car of choice where speed and reliability are required on a long European run. With those miles, I can just drive it. I do look after it, though. Looks very smart for a 25k car let alone 170k. I’m the second owner and a friend was the first. Doesn’t cost a huge bundle to run now (say, 3000 miles and £2000 pa). Am very fortunate.
So, take your time to find a good one then jump at it!!
Just drove mine from FL to Rennsport in Monterey & back. The only issue was a slipping clutch, easily fixed with a trans rebuild & new sachs 2.5 clutch. Otherwise it ran flawlessly. Saw a max (gps verified) speed of 176 on i15 headed in to Vegas, (lots of miles, lots of smiles)
