Here's a video of a Ruf 993 Turbo R vs GT2 with EUROPIPE exhaust. GT2 is using 91 octane, Ruf is using 100 octane. IMHO, the cars accelerate nearly the same. ![Cool](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/cool.gif)

Jim,
We were dead even from the start. The cars seemed nearly identical. The next race I let the GT2 get ahead a bit. I stayed the same distance behind to 150 mph.
I may have been leaking boost at the time, so I'm looking forward to trying again!
BTW, how was the CTR-2 compared to your car in acceleration?
Bill

Bill,
Our cars are very close. At the Daytona Rennsport Steve Beddor told Dieter from Andial that the CTR 2 got pulled by a black turbo while in California at Willow Springs. Actually, we were practicing and Steve was just getting to know the track. Ruf has built some unbelievable trick stuff with the CTR 2. Most impressive was the gear set that allows the CTR to be on boost most of the time, along with water sprayer for the intercooler etc.. Not to take anything from the Andial 3.8 it was a big horsepower day.

The Ruf is supposed to have +500Hp and it is lighter, so it was a great result for the 462Hp and heavier GT2 to keep up the pace, unless this Ruf has less Hp than I mention
Thanks for sharing the video, live this kind od stuff.

Actually, GT2s are very fast. Here's a few things:
1. The curb weight is 176 lbs LESS than a 993 TT (3,131 vs 3,307).
2. The EUROPIPE adds about 15 hp.
3. Center spark plug makes it less prone to detonation.
4. GT2 variocam helps flatten the torque curve.
From a stop, the Ruf may have had more of an advantage, given it's 0-60 is about 3.3 vs the GT2 3.8. Also, the Ruf may have been leaking boost at the time.
We've also seen GT2s beat "500 HP+" 996 turbos.
