Anybody know a good source for lightweight body panels for a 993TT? How else have you guys lightened your cars? Seats appear to be pretty heavy. Has anyone removed the front part of the 4wd for the track? Other than suggestions for a diet, any other tips/tricks to suck in the 993TT belly a little?
Thank you.

You can remove soem parts and save a lot of weight.
-Heather system (not needed for FL)
-Mufflers (install bypasses)
-Replace door panels with RS panels
-Replace factory seats with lightweight or race seats
-Remove rear buckets
-Install carbon fiber doors, fenders(f/r), hood and bumpers
Then go and make a 4 point balance. You are saving around 300 pounds on your car.

Derrick,
Corte Loco is right. I saved over 50 lbs when installing the GHL muffler bypasses (the turbos are better cooled and spool up quicker, as well). Also saved 66 lbs by switching from the factory sports seats to leather-covered GT3 seats.

Getty Design makes more carbon fiber than you can imagine for your car. If you are willing to do away with the sunroof, you can save 50 lbs and install a carbon fiber shell. All in all even keeping the 4wd parts you can easily get down to 2800lbs and still have a streetable car with AC. I am at 3040 right now (including roll bar), and will be losing another 35 lbs when I install my new GT2 tail (Porsche factory carbon / kevlar). Next will be seats for another 30lb savings (not going with GT3s. Getting some Recaro leather 5 point Speeds instead).
Of cource I am also working on the driver losing a little weight, but it is just easier to replace a part on the car with carbon fiber...

You can also contact FVD in Pompano Beach FL, they offer a lot of kevlar/carbon fiver parts. All depends on your budget, all these parts can go up to 15k!!!
Good luck and let us know

A simple modification is to remove the rear window wiper. It weighs quite a bit and doesn't really do much. You can get plugs from Porsche to cover the hole in the window as well.
