TT Hunting
I've seen that there are a number of Rennlister's who are hunting TT's. It seems to me, that if we were to pool our resources and help eachother, that we all might find the PERFECT car.
I'm on the hunt for a Midnight Blue/Black for a buddy of mine. I've found only one out there, and it is France and has high miles and it will take lots of Euro's to buy her.
Any help would be appreciated.
thanks
Doug

Doug,
I don't think you need to go to France to buy a midnight blue twin turbo. There should be plenty to choose from in the USA and Canada. I just bought a midnight blue/gray car a few weeks back. It took a while to nail down this particular car, but they are out there.
I will take a look around Vancouver (excellent exchance rate makes these cars cheap) and see if there are any cars. I know that there is a gorgeous silver twin turbo at the local independant shop and a gorgeous 996 Turbo as well. This 46k km (30k mi) 993T is going for CAD$105k (US$75k):
More info on the car: http://www.weissach.com/details.php?id=24-1615C
There is also a really cool colour 42k km (26k mi) 993 Turbo there as well:
That one is going for CAD$119k (US$89k). More info: http://www.weissach.com/details.php?id=24-1625C

I've NEVER been able to find MN Blue (or any other mid/dark blue) with Blk in the US. Blk/blk yes, otherwise all dark cars seem to have light interiors, the rigeur in the US.
Hence my choice of Slvr wich is almost always pared with blk. Now that I am in Germany I keep stumbling over that combo but it too late now...

Also, what is involved to bring a canada car into the US?

For importation information: http://www.buyclassiccars.com/import.asp Seems pretty easy from canada, probably just a speedo swap on the Canadian turbos (the speedo only shows km/h). You may want to keep the Canadian speedo though, it's cool to see 300km/h on the dash

We do help one another finding and inspecting 993 Turbos. Often times it is done with private messages so somebody doesn't 'jump your claim'.
Place a free want ad in the Rennlist classifieds and be specific on what you must have. You can also do the same in AutoWeek magazine (but at a cost of course). So if it has to be Midnight Blue with black interior, say so.

Thanks for those - I'd seen the one in Florida, the lowering he talks about is someone took a chopsaw and cut an 1" off the springs. I'd seen that done on civics, but never on a P.
I hadn't seen the one in LA. THANKS!

It appears that for some reason, there aren't any in the country, or if there are, they are super rare. I can find a "special order" gold, purple or green, there are yellow ones, white ones, black ones, silver ones, arena red ones, guards red ones...
So, here's a question to the group: What happens to the value of a car if you swap the interior color of a car? I can get full black interiors and I could just swap it out. Probably have to spend $3-5k, but then it would be a midnight blue with black car... THOUGHTS?

WHy would you do that. The idea of the car is to have it and
enjoy the experience. the classic midnite blue car has the cashmere
interior. I think the reason there is not many of those blu/blk is it
does not seem to match real well(total black). even with a cash interior
you have a black top- black dash black st wheel. You could put in
GT3 seats and have black seats. then you could get black mats.
then if you turn around and sell it you can sell it as a classic color
combo instead of taking a chance of messing with its resale value.
the only exclusion I had on my search was to eliminate int black because
of the heat here in the summer.
