Yasir,

I'm sorry you had so much trouble with South Broadway. They have handled a couple of smaller repairs for me in the past (crumpled rear fender well after dropping off a jack, and the clicking door check strap). Then, they repaired the damage from my accident in the Kink. They definitely needed supervising from time to time to make sure all the details were right, but the car is looking good now. They repainted the entire car, and it looks like new - better than when I bought it with 6,000 miles. We've been told that they guarantee their work for as long as you own the car, so I'm surprised to hear that Dan isn't standing by the previous work. Maybe, Steve messed up so many cars that Dan can't keep up with the redos? Just a guess.

I steered clear of the cat bypass because I heard it is too loud for street use, didn't want to risk a persistent CEL, and I did feel a bit guilty about the pollution aspect (although I'm probably guilty of "noise" pollution now!).

Sorry I missed you yesterday, but there's always next year. I spoke on melanoma and moles. We had about 50 attendees, and the new venue (Sal's Restaurant) was a significant improvement over last year - brand new A/V equipment with 3 screens. Not a bad seat in the house.

Let's hook up when the weather improves.

Anir, Glad you are happy with the GHL's (I knew you would be). I agree with you the guys at GHL made dealing with them a pleasure. I also obviously love the sound, but the bonus of less rear weight and what i also percieve as quicker spool up makes this mod a no brainer. Have fun! Mike W

Okay, I got my bypass pipes!!! But once again I have to ask the stpind question.
Are these dual tips going to work. They slip over the muffler and are not mounted flush
like the ovals. And if I put them together they won't cover the openings on the tips.

Here are some pictures. Feeling a bit stupid about this. I just want to make sure before I get
the car apart it will all go together

Another quick question if anyone can help. Would adding the muffler bypass pipes affect the set up of the suspension at all (due to the decrease in weight of the car)? I am putting on the PSS9 kit now and was thinking about doing the bypass later this year, but I want to avoid messing up the suspension settings. Thanks.

Anyone have any thoughts on or experience with AA993TT's question? (not to mention Marty's as well). I'm just curious about whether the rear ride height or suspensions settings are altered with the deletion of a substantial bit of weight in the rear (a good thing).

Well, had my by-pass pipes installed today. All I can say is WHOA!!!!!!!!
The sound is awesome!! On start up, not too loud, just a bit throaty.

But at speed!!! It is music to my ears. (and everyone elses) Some of the guys at work could hear my car as I shifted into 3rd gear down the street.

And the sound when you are screaming in between some buildings and it is bouncing off the walls is unreal.

I think I even made an alarm chirp as I drove by!!!

All's I can say is I am still smiling!!!

Marty

I don't think this is a significant issue. My rear ride height did not rise noticeably after deletion of the mufflers. However, it might make sense to corner-balance the car (i.e. tweek coilover collar positions) after the muffler deletion if you wanted to be as accurate as possible.

mb97tts,

I'm sorry I didn't see your question before (worked late the last two days), but I'm glad you like the upgrade!

Marty, wait till you fire it up in the garage tomorrow morning. They like to gurgle and pop for the first few minutes. Your Fletcher Jones Benz crowd neighbors will appreciate the nice, throaty sound of that fine German metal.

Bill
