First time out, I ran a 12.7 at 113mph. I had a hard time launching. Is 2.0 sixty foot time really bad? I launched at 2600rpms but it was a little too much tire spin so I just let off the gas and shifted into 2nd gear. Car is stock.

Looks like fun. I've always been afraid to REALLY launch my Porsche for fear of damaging the transmission. Did you side-step the clutch or did you "feather" it out? By comparison, my buddy with an 03 Cobra convert did a 13.1 ET, but did 119 MPH. Considering the weight of his car (3700+), I'm a little surprised that you didn't have a higher top speed.

2.0 60' is great for your first time out. I know a 1.9 is possible from my 1996 c2 (N/A car) back when it was stock.

Your TT with 4wd should be able to top that once you get the launch down. Judging by the times you may actually want to launch at a higher rpm and feather the clutch in (this is really REALLY bad for it tho) so that you actually hit full boost more toward the beginning of the run. Our numbers are pretty similar up until the 8th mile.

I did a few runs two years ago and I must say it's really difficult to make a clean start. That is if you don't want to risk frying the clutch or making the rear wheels jump around...

I rev around 4000 rpm and then ease in the clutch, trying to keep the engine rpm (and turbo pressure) up without frying. Then when the clutch is fully out I floor the pedal. It's really tricky to do because most of the times you loose turbo pressure or the cluch starts to let go. I'm sure there are better ways of doing it but I don't want to risk anything.

Anyway. My best time of only four ever tried is:

Never done it myself and probably will never try, but that looks like a really impressive time.

Your reaction time compared to your opponent was bad (not being negative or harsh or claiming I'd do better, just pointing out). If your reaction time was closer, you'd have gotten closer to a 12.3.

I'd be happen to get under 15 first time 'round.

It's not worth the potential bent first gear shaft for me to want to try.
The PO of my car has one as a paperweight.

I was feathering the clutch, but i got so excited when the lights dropped I ended up giving it too much gas and didnt feel like i had a strong launch so I just let off and shifted into 2nd. Maybe starting with a higher rpm would help out. Im pretty happy that even with a bad launch the car still runs a great overall time.

They never give you enough time to stage and get ready so when the lights drop I get too excited and I dont like to go till Im ready, so my reaction time is off. Its all for fun though.

I have a Typhoon, if anyone knows what that is, and I can get 1.77 sixty foot time, and 12.1 at 111mph

I stand corrected with the 03 Cobra... I spoke to him today, and he did a 110 mph with a 13.5. But he launched it real easy as they have a tendancy to break rear axles.

Ford advertises 390 HP, but with a Magnaflow catback, he dyno'd 407 RWHP! Yipes. Even dead stock those 03 Cobras are very stout, and are very easy (cheap) to crank up tp around 500 rwhp.

i have an 83 cab w/ a 3.5 turbo motor with 370-390rwhp and last year a raced a worked cobra w-510 rwhp and i had about 330-340 rwhp last yr. We did a 20mph roll on since we both cannot lanch, me because of tranny and up to 140mph we were right next to each other. i am curious to see with the extra horses i have this yr how i will do agaist it. The cobra runs mid to high 11"s.
