Hi Pong - we made it home safe and I am already thinking about mods - I need to restrain myself from that. I am suprised no one bit on my M5 vs. 911 comment, but I suspect most people on this board know that the NA 911s have some stiff competition out there. One thing my M5 needs is a stronger clutch.

Bill,
Since you posted on the 993tt board, members here probably are aware that their cars will out-pull the M5. If you post on the regular 993 board, there may be a few bruised egos and slightly different response.
As for the M5 clutch, if you're in the habit of fully lifting your left foot before the right foot goes in, then the clutch is probably good for a long long time. I have about 50k miles on mine and the clutch is still perfect. However, if you're in a hurry and the right foot plants before the clutch is fully engagaed, the big-torque can toast the clutch easily.
Actually, the weakest link is the rear sway brackets, they are a disgrace.

Bill:
I am sorry to see the 993 TT go. I am however somewhat relieved by your replacement. I must say that the two cars are very different from each other yet very complementary. Enjoy your new ride but beware the mods available for the E39 M5 are very extensive.

Yep - that is the car.
About the M5, there is no way that it is a replacement for our 993TT. I can't really imagine any car that could replace the 993TT as it is such a unique car. I suspect I may get another one some day when my situtation is a bit simpler. It is telling that at least 50% of the people who have contacted me about my 993TT have previously owned one.

Well I have a few people from the Vancouver, Canada area interested in the car so maybe it will return to the creator of the modifications (it is actually a California car originally).

Pictures -
Hey guys - thanks for all of the interest. I have had a lot of people e-mail me for picutres and I have tried to respond to them all. If I have not please send me a PM. Here is a recent picture in my driveway - not too exciting, but you get the idea.

Yes - plenty of interest. A few "serious" offers, no sale yet. This is the only place I have the car listed as I would love it to go to a rennlister - that way I can keep track of it. I will probably list it elsewhere in a week or so.
