Default Tire feedback Continental Sportcontact

Tire options for 285/30/18 are limited. Looking for feedback on Continental extremecontact sport. Another option is the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 which is a great tire.

I JUST put the ExtremeContact DW’s (which are comparable) on my 2010 Cayman and like what I’ve seen so far for a very small sample size. PARTICULARLY for the money. The weather in Philly has not exactly been conducive for spirited driving. I’m coming from ancient Conti SportContact 3’s which are discontinued. I can tell you already they don’t seem to be a fan of VERY cold temps in the limited driving I’ve done in cold. Once you get some temperature in them they are good but they seem sensitive to temps below let’s say 40 degrees. You are on the West Coast so no issues..

The DWs were known to have soft sidewall, be interested to hear feedback on the extreme too. I've heard comparable to Michelin Supersports.

I think you might have more luck on the 993 forum.

I have Conti DWs (not DWS) on my 993TT. Great tire. I have used them on other cars. I view them as a more affordable PS2.

I have continental too. Much better than the ps2 it replaced. Much stickier. The ps2 is a 18 year old tire design.

I also have ps4s on a 991. I’d say they are similar to the conti

I find my PS2 N3's stickier and quieter than the Conti Sport Contact N2's that came off but latter were 7 years old. Over 40+ years of sports car ownership I've tried pretty much everything and always been happier with Michelins. Most important thing is to get "ultra high performance" summers. I'll replace the PS2's with whatever the latest "N" rated Michelin that's available at the time. Having said all of this I had a warranty replacement on one of the PS2's.

Exactly!

That's why most were raving about the Super Sports when they came out, too bad not available for 993WB sizing then. PS4 I believe is the replacement.

My understanding is the PS2 has been upgraded with each N version so N3 is relatively new. When I bought 'em a year ago, they were the latest Michelin N tire. No PS4 N was available. Regardless, they're awesome tires.
