Default '95 vs 96/97 Transmission

Wikipedia mentions the 96 and 97 have strengthened transmissions over the '95 but I can't find it verified anywhere else. Only transmission changes mentioned are beefed up rear axle half shafts?

The 97 has a stronger input shaft afaik, people were bending them in the earlier cars with jack rabbit starts... also the 97 you had to press the clutch to start the engine, increasing wear on thrust bearing - a 5 min mod with a zip tie to activate the micro switch.

The last couple of month's '96 production apparently had the beefier input shaft but sorry, I couldn't find the reference. My July production car also has the ignition key light but starts without the clutch depressed.
