Anir,

Did your insurance co. cover the DE wreck? and who was it?

Thanks,

Jim,

Yes, they did because it occured during a DE and not a race. State Farm.

However, I have yet to see if they sign me up again at renewal time.

I hate to hear that....unfortunately sometimes fate does catch up to us. Best of luck on getting the car repaired and back to better than new! Keep your chin up and look to the future. Glad to hear most of all that you are okay. Cars can always be fixed or replaced, as hard as it is to bear doing so (I've been down that road myself).

Anir, I have State Farm as well and so far as I know, there should be no problem with them renewing your policy. Their practice is normally to charge you more for chargeable accidents for a period and then to go back to your normal rates, they don't normally "drop people".

I also have a tale of woe. At a DE at Watkins Glen in June, I kissed the guard rail which damaged my front and rear driver side fenders/bumpers. No frame damage thank God. When I had it repaired I switched to the Euro front and rear bumpers, added clear turn signals and a front GT2 splitter. Car was repainted and it looks better than new. My insurance company also covered the repairs (Ohio Casualty).

Mike,

Damn, sorry to hear about your sweet Turbo. Glad you're not hurt. Get that puppy repaired so you can make it to the Leap Year Meet and Drive.

Steve, I'm going to PM you soon.

Steve, your car must be sweet looking after the upgrades. Any pics?

Mark, looking forward to the meet.

Thanks for all of the great wishes. I thought twice about mentioning the accident on the Rennlist board but this is a great group and I am now sure I was correct to come clean.

Your comments regarding better than new reminded me that I should carefully consider modifications I might want to make as the car goes back together.

Since the oil cooler was destroyed, I will definately upgrade to the better oil cooler. The one I have in mind is the Cargraphic from Carnewal.

I hope to make the leap year meet and drive but definately will see you guys at drivers ed.

All the best.

Mike,
I share the same feelings as everyone else here. Glad to hear your OK and that your car will be fixed again. Along with everyone else again, I also say go to a driving school or a DE event and see what you can do in a control and safe setting. Best wishes - Jay Gratton
