Default Crank vs. Wheel HP

In a recent post on the 996TT forum, the subject of real horsepower loss came up where -15% was the believed hp delta between the crank and the rear wheels. Does anyone here have experience to substantiate what that might be on the 993TT? Also for crank vs. all wheels?

Thanks

Mike - this is an age old question and you will get as many different responses as people you ask. 15% seems to be as good a rule of thumb as any, and does seem to gibe with factory numbers vs. what people see on a chassis dyno. If you search the 993 board you will see that a bunch of people posted RWHP numbers for their 993s and 15% does seem to be about the difference between posted numbers and factory crank HP numbers. I have been told that the AWD cars may loose a little more power in the drivetrain for obvious reasons, but I have no validation of this. The only real answer I can give you is that RWHP numbers are what count. To get engine numbers you would need to pull the engine - not feasible for most of us.
