EBay 993TT - surprised no one has bid...

Carfax is a joke. You would think if nothing else they would at least get changes in ownership correct, since it is a matter of public record. The last car I had showed one owner, and I was the fourth!

I spoke with someone at Unique Motors in Philly about this TT after I saw their ad in PML last month. They've had the car for a few weeks. The gentleman that I talked to at Unique was helpful and courteous, and he seemed to know the car. I think they purchased the TT at auction, and it had been sold at auction once before that as well. That's not an indication that there's anything wrong with the car, I just doubt you will get a full service history or be able to speak with any of the previous owners. But the price is right if it checks out.

This scenario sounds eerily similar to my TT purchase of 1 year ago. 1996 arctic silver, black interior, aluminum gauges, digital sound, Porsche crests, etc. 60k miles. Mine was also bought at auction by dealership after the original owner's lease finished. Unfortunately the one downside was that the service records were spotty. I had a PPI done initially (no issues), then I had the 60k service done at the time of purchase. This was an $1800 service and I used that to bargain down the price of the car. I ended up getting it for $58k. I wouldn't be scared off by the mileage if the PPI checks out, although if you could somehow factor in the 60k service into the purchase contract, that would be ideal (not sure how that would work on an Ebay purchase though). My car has been absolutely bullet-proof, and I never plan on selling so I could care less what the odometer reads.
Good luck,

This TT desire, it seems like an addiction...I can't stop talking about it, looking for them on eBay, cars.com, etc. Every p-car friend is being told about every TT I see.
Does this go away after awhile? Am I just in some kind of TT haze that wears off? I love my 968, but the idea of all the power is intoxicating.

They don't want to set a high reserve as they'd have to pay eBay more money....
