Default Cross thread from GT3 Board - Promise not to ask again.

Hello all...cross thread from GT3 board...and tired of beating this dead issue but one last time. I have a decent (not great) offer on my PTS Targa4S loaded Burmester and a Decent (yet not great) offer on my 993TT excellent shape but not a museum piece. With the characteristics of these cars, what is a better 2 car Porsche Garage - a) GT3 touring & 993 tt {stick/ visceral & stick visceral air cooled} OR b) GT3 Touring & Targa 4s PTS loaded {stick visceral & quiet luxury). Seems to me the GT3 and 993TT almost give the same experience - just interested in your opinion(s). I promise not to ask again.

I'm in the same boat that you are with 993 tt and PTS targa (Irish Green). Targa will go when .2 GT3 comes. I think the 993 is totally different than 991 irrespective of transmission. Have not driven the new GT3 yet - but assume it will be similar to an RS. You'll regret selling the 993. Just keep it, values will stay steady on them.

gt3 and 993tt will always be worth more. They both do have the same 'character' but that's what we like about these cars. I think the newer cars are too easy to drive and too fast, frustrating to drive on the street at normal speeds. You know you'll regret it if you sell the 993. You've had many nice Porsches, but it looks like 993tt is the only one that you've bought multiple times - probably means something. Keep all 3, come up with creative ways of keeping them covered and rotate them, i.e. off site/car covers etc etc. (I have 7 cars - 2 that my girls drive, 5 that I'd like to keep covered but only have a 3 car garage..would like to get a lift for parking but those also have pros and cons). In Vancouver, there's a new development of 'condos for cars' - essentially a garage and man cave http://thetroveclub.com Seems like an interesting idea, but not as convenient as having all your cars at your place of residence

Just the 993tt, no challengers to it's attention. Maybe ad a nice dd Macan or something. As others have said, you'll regret selling the 993tt, last I checked they ain't making anymore.

I am lucky to own both . They are completely different driving experiences.
For me th e 993 TT feels like an old friend and produces a big smile when I do drive it. ( not very often )

The GT3 feels like you are in a missile that you don't drive, you just aim it.

Both are amazing cars to and are exceptional cars that will always have value.

Sold the Targa today. Thank you all for your comments. GT3 Touring arrives first part of February - but with snow in our region, won't be driving it until April. All wonderful cars.

I agree with Turbohead as I own both also... no doubt different driving experiences.
OD, I think you will be happy you are keeping the TT in your stable.
