Default Cel Light - O2 Sensor, Dme Relay

Hi again, i've only had my TT for eight weeks and already had every problem possible so far. The latest one is the CEL light is coming on after about 20 miles / 30 minutes of driving. I've had it read a couple of times.
The faults were O2 sensors (both before ones) and DME (changed).
It's only started happening after i had the engine pulled for a rear main seal. I also filled the car with fuel at a different petrol station before the car went in.
Just wondered if anyone else has had three O2 sensors go at once!?

Thanks

Alan

Alan,

Ahhh... I think the problem is that you are using "petrol" instead of gasoline. Isn't Petrol something you feed to your pets to control incontinence?

Seriously, sorry you've encountered so many issues. Mine (I'm the 4th owner) with 59,000 miles, hasn't even had a hiccup, so there is hope.

Do you have a 95/96? Has the wiring loom recall been done on the car? The symptoms you describe might be caused by this.

Im in uk -check your cars chassis number with local dealer. They should be able to tell on the computer system, whether the car has been recalled for the wiring loom,I checked mine and found it had.
Just a thought.

Fixed it! Last night I stripped off the intercooler surround to go right through the electrical connnections.
The oxygen sensor wiring is not part of the replacement loom by the way.

It turns out that a pin was not fully pushed into the plug on one of the oxygen sensor connectors!

I've done a great 100 miles with no light on now!
I've also tightened the boost pipe lower connection on the left hand turbo and stopped the leak. I'm as happy as a pig in ****!

I'll make a full list of my experience when i can get out the car for five minutes. In total, the car has spent 5 weeks at the dealers and only 3 weeks in my own possesion!

Before I fixed it I thought it was going to be the end of our relationship, but then i thought 'woudl i rather have a TT with CEL light on, or a perfect boxster S or 996'.
