Default OBD Code p1117/help

Been a rough first week.....CEL light on again but this time not the carbon issue (was releaved at first actually). This code is p1117..."O2S Heater 1 Behind Catalytic Converter".

Searched and found one thread on this but was not resolved. I assume this is an oxygen sensor (no service manuals or CD roms here yet) and is reletivley easy to fix (reset the CEL already with the reader, light has not come back on after about 50 miles so far). Any info on this appreciated. Also, I was planning on driving the car 600 miles r/t this weekend, would this be a bad idea before I address this issue? Thanks in advance.

jford,

It's actually the 02 sensor 1 ahead of the catalytic converter. The problem is that the heating current is too low. The 02 sensor is not heating up to the proper temperature to determine the fuel/air mixture correctly. I've learned that OBD2 is a very sensitive system and if anything is slightly off, the CE light will come on. I have some more info on how to diagnose the problem, PM if you want more info.
