I think I'd like to do an 964 RS Flywheel + 964 RS Pressure Plate + RS 4.0 Disc on my 1996 C2 unless anyone has a negative experience to share?
You have the correct part number there for the 4.0 disk which is the one I used along with the 964 RS flywheel but as mine is a stock Turbo, I used the stock Turbo PP instead of the 764 upgrade.

Very smooth operation with this setup and only a small amount of noise around 2000rpm and below, no stalling issues.

Initially I also had the FD trans mount installed but had to swap back to the stock mount as the extra noise (for me) was just way too much...sounded like a Model T Ford going down the road!

Reviving an old thread.

So, has anyone followed through with a GT3 RS or GT3 RS 4.0 clutch / flywheel setup in a 993?

So I am going to bite the bullet on this one and will order a GT3 RS clutch and pressure plate and a 993/964 RS lightweight flywheel. My tech stated that this is an easy clutch action, with a progressive biting point. I am a little nervous because the 996/997 GT3 cars have assisted clutch action... my guy insists it's fine without, as in a 993, and he drives his 964 with this setup.

If anyone has a view on that please do let me know.

My other option is the Sachs kit from FVD- https://www.fvd.net/us-en/FVD116909/...86-ft-lbs.html

This claims to be a street kit and is a decent price. I'm worried I'll make the wrong choice.

I have the lwfw and 996tt/gt3 clutch in my hotrod 993. The clutch action is definitely heavier than the stock clutch, bearable but annoying in traffic. My blue car I have a stock clutch and a new hydraulics with a new master and slave cylinder. Clutch was easy like a Honda and I would drive in stop and go traffic without thinking about it.

On my drivetrain overhaul on the hotrod I installed the FPL slave cylinder which was recommended to me by a few folks to help with making the clutch action easier...

Thanks. That's what I am worried about. The master and slave are for the brakes yes? I didn't think they were integrated like a 996 with the clutch.

Also, no guarantee the Sachs kit from FVD is any better.

The clutch and brake hydraulic circuits are separate but share the same reservoir in the frunk.

The clutch has a master and slave cylinder. The slave is something you can upgrade later to the FPL one if you feel your clutch is too heavy to your liking. Good luck!

Thanks! I tried Googling FPL slave cylinder and got nothing. Can you point me in the right direction please?
