Default Squealing on take off

My 1996 C4S has developed an intermittent screech/squeal on take off in the morning. This is in Vancouver, BC Canada, where it is somewhat damp but not too cold. I thought at first that it was only with clutch take up but it appears sometimes with the clutch out. Short awful screech which I get rid of by declutching and letting idle; Only lasts a few seconds but it seems to be worsening. Do the erudite members have any ideas please?

Yours in anticipation and anxiety

Slipping belt?

Also, how about low power steering fluid... my car sounded horrendous a few years back, turned out it was low on fluid.

Check out belt tension sensor diy . Mine squealed when cold and damp. I tried the lube without success, so my independent replaced it when he changed the belts.
