Default 2 Post Lift - Engine Drop - Lift Table

I'm preparing for my first engine/transaxle drop from my 993. I have a two post lift. From what I've read and searching, a lift table may be beneficial to the process. (i.e. lowering the engine out vs raising the body up with the 2 post lift.).

Does anyone have any recommendations on a lift table? So far I'm looking at this one. http://www.gregsmithequipment.com/1-100-lb-Table-Truck

Thanks,
Mike

I used one from Harbor Freight for my engine swap. It's definitely not the greatest quality, but I figured it only had to go up and down a couple of times.

Why not just use the 2-post lift and a sturdy box or table?

I'm worried about the sensitivity of the lift up and down causing issues. The lift table should enable more 'precision' to the positioning of the motor/trans during install.

On my last heavy engine trans lift I used heavy duty jack stands and lowered the car over
it , very nice and straightforward..Bert

I just used my shop bench. It was a very easy one man job both in and out with a two post lift. It helped that my bench was on wheels.

The Greg Smith Equipment companies "Table Truck" offer at $455.00 could work easily,, having a working capacity of 1,100 lbs.

The above ^ wooden shop bench construct has appeal because of its DIY value and shape; its rectangular shape easily accommodates the 993's gearbox/engine arrangement combo.
The recently installed 2 post lift we have both raises and lowers effortlessly ... that is without shudder.
