Question 993 OBD I adjustment screw?

Can anyone tell me what the little plastic screw in the back of the Motronic OBD I is for? What does it do?

If you take the cover off of the CPU (under the seat) there's a small plastic screw head adjustment in the corner of the unit. It appears to be an adjustment screw of some kind but I am having difficulty finding a reference for it?

Is it part of a PCB mounted component? If so it's probably a reference voltage setting for sensor calibration
id leave it well alone

Definitely not playing with it 'If it isn't broke don't fix it'. Curious though...

Not sure if it applies to ours or not. I recall a past forum where that was to select available fuel quality in that region. ie if only 89 octane was available.

It provides for varying the timing & fuel settings for emissions, fuels, and driving conditions.

Thank you Loren and Techman!

Wondering if you have to have the car on an emission sniffer or if there are designated stop points in the adjusting screw for various fuel octanes?
