Any C4S owners ever thought of painting their rear grill to match the car? I know the C2S cars have painted split grills. I thought maybe it might look pretty cool and different with a painted grill on a C4S. If you've done it, pics please.
Yeah, and I have not done it (yet) because popping the grill for painting is a lot more involved than it looks, you need to detach it all around - probably need new clips - need a new adhesive kit, etc...
Still thinking about it though, as a part of my "black and silver" dream theme. (sparco milano 2 black with the silver hardware on the side, RS door panels with silver window switches, black center console with silver insert ... hey, what's that noise? Oh, my alarm clock, time to wake up !!) ;-)
Keith, I am currently looking for a C2S split grill which I am going to have painted the same color as my car. I have missed on a couple on ebay but Gert offers them on his web page so if I dont find one soon I will just order from him. I have considered painting the original grill instead but like the look of the split grill so well I have decided to go that route. If you dont like the C2S grill I for one think the painted original would look great. IMO. Mick

Mick,
Go with the C2S split grill, I have it on my narrow body C2, and you wouldnt believe what a difference it makes to the car. It honestly makes the narrow body look really wide at the rear. Really one of the best "bling bling" mods you could do to the car.
I'm sure the split grill looks great. After much thought I'm going to leave the my rear grill alone. I think the black matches the other black trim pieces on my car (arena red).
I think if my car was black I would have had it painted black to get that sleek, shiny look. Thank you all...
Thanks Harold, I was pretty much convinced already, but then my wife asked me last night what I wanted for Christmas. Already copied the split grill from Gerts web page and will be showing it to my wife tonight. Glad to hear you are happy with yours. Mick
I like the look of the split grill; So much that I was looking for a C2S, but I found a C4S that had the grill already replaced so all is good in the world.
