Burglars are probing my car

Two simple protections I use when I go away:
1. I drilled a hole in the garage door rail just above the roller when the door is down and put a case hardened padlock through the hole. This means that the door can't be lifted.
2. I turn the steering wheel to the extreme left or right so the car can't be rolled out of the garage if #1 is cut with bolt cutters.

Not sure it was mentioned, but if you have clear glass in your garage doors, like that shown in the earlier video, cover them. Thieves can't hook if they can't see.

Three Wheelin'
"Smile you're on camera" sign & park a car in front of garage (if you got an extra) are cheap alternatives.

Damn contractors! I recently built a new house and was getting some Plumbing Work done by one of the Contractors who installed it originally. He had to go into my 3 car to get to a Stack and my 911 was in there. He was like woah! "Better watch I'll just hook that garage door pull it off, drag her out onto my flatbed truck!" I was like go ahead you may not make it out of my driveway!" Then he didn't say anything. ODD! What is wrong with people!

For roll up type doors, this simple "D" clip will surely make it very inconvenient for anyone to get in. To defeat it, would take a lot of time, grunt, noise, and luck. Like others have stated, The more of a hassle it is to get into your house/car, the more they (MAY) move on. Dog signs, alarm signs, fake cameras, whatever it takes.

Police will do nothing since no crime has taken place yet. They could simply like your car, or are casing your house or car.
I'd keep the car at another location while I install a home alarm.
I'd also consider buying a boot for the car when in garage.
I'd pull the fuel pump relay.
Also make sure you have theft insurance.
I'd also keep the garage shut not to attract attention.
put a timer on to make it look like someones always home (like in home alone lol)
I'd also buy your dogs some good treat's Merrick

Thanks again for all the input everyone! Last night I put some of the good tips into place. I'm not going to name all of the them since who knows who is reading these boards. Lets just say it will be harder for these guys to steal the car. I spoke with a few surrounding neighbors and the guard at my front gate about the situation. My wife went to the HOA meeting last night and notified the board we need to do more about surveillance and monitoring who comes in and out of our community. I have a few precaution measure on order and will hopefully install some more things very soon. When I spoke to the guard he notified me that a Mercedes was stolen on Monday in the community next to me and that a neighbor down the street caught a guy on camera trying to enter his house thru the front door but wasn't successful. Seems like crime is on the rise. Hopefully this will act as a reminder to everyone to protect your family, home and car.
