My drivers side door mirror glass popped out. I have heated glass, the wires kept it from breaking on the floor.
I pushed it back in place but it doesn't snap in or anything. It stays there but I can easy pull it off again. I looked at the glass and the mirror base and nothing is broken at all.
Is that normal?

I searched this board before I posted and nothing. This is the only thing I found and it looks like the square mirror not the 993 aero mirror but the inside looks the same. This vid shows to slide that ring to lock or unlock through the vent hole you described in the bottom of the mirror...

Look up posts in the 964 forums. Search aero mirror upgrade. There are pictures and explanations. At the bottom of your mirror there is a small oval hole. A small screwdriver is inserted to rotate a wheel that locks the mirror in place. This should make more sense with the glass out and looking at the back and where it mates on the mirror housing. The ring is rotated one way to the unlock position, glass inserted, then the screwdriver is used through the hole to rotate the ring into the lock position.

I just watched that 944 video. It is the exact same thing. That ring he is moving with the notches on the bottom is what you rotate. Your screwdriver will wedge in a notch and pull it to rotate and lock.

Thanks all..did that last night...small hole under the mirror and small screw driver I was able to spin the ring and lock it on. The video is good because he shows to turn the ring with the pins showing to mount then spin to lock using the small screw driver .
After the restoration they never locked the glass on.
