Three Wheelin'
You can get the immobilizer removed with an ECU flash, so don't let that be a reason for avoiding a 97.

100% concur on the drive-block system. Not missed at all.

seems under-priced but the dealer seems to be clueless about what he is selling:

"Rode hard, and put away wet."
The set of 19 mismatched lug nuts speak to a certain level of care. At least to me.
I've seen a couple of fair condition Arena Reds sit for a loooooong time locally. Beginning to think it should be called "No Sale Red."

Not sure I agree with the "no sale red" comment. I have one and have had multiple offers and it's not for sale. A good car is the differentiator. This care is a POS. Look at the hood alignment. And who put that tail on a NB car? Plus it looks like the car is jacked up in the rear! not to mention the lug nut thing and who knows what else. This thing is hiding some secrets.

Had the Porsche classic radio installed in my car and it's amazing...brings such a fun and enjoyable car up to the present with streaming music, etc.
These cars are worth every penny of the increasing value. Fun, agile, quick, manual, small footprint and sounds amazing and looks the part. Love mine. Find a good one and run with it.

I have not witnessed this car in the flesh, but I'm not seeing anything too strange in the pics. Bumperettes have been painted.

ace, the C4S you're referencing looks AWESOME. Solid solid car- If i were in the market, I'd be all over that one. The one above that liisted for 49ish in houston is a total POS with a LOT of hidden issues. Another I just noticed is the headlight washers are wrong as is the beading between the bumper and fenders. This car's been hit- no question about it.

I wonder about long term future demand as alt fuel becomes more mainstream and driverless cars become the norm. Will the millennials share our passion for the 993's?
I am very found of the 55 Chevy. I was surprised to see how generational changes are now starting to effect those values. I have to believe it will catch up with the 993 someday as well. http://www.caranddriver.com/features...de-away-page-2
With regards to near term pricing we should all consider ourself fortunate. Most cars are deprecating assets. The 993 will likely not fall into this catagory anytime soon. That makes for relatively guilt free ownership.
I own a 31k mile Arena Red C4S. It's a VERY clean California car. How many such examples remain? It can't be a big number. I have to assume value for such a car will remain strong. I consider myself very fortunate to have owned it for 10+ years. As I creep closer to retirement I will have to consider tapping that equity as I downsize housing etc.
To fellow owners, enjoy! To those waiting on the sidelines for the "right deal" don't wait to long. If you find something you really like pull the trigger. You will likely enjoy a free ride if taken care of properly.
