Default Tyre advice needed

Need some advice. I currently have 225/40R18 on the front of my 993 and they need replacing. Unfortunately there are none in the country (New Zealand) as last shipment was pre-sold. They do have 235's... anyone run 235's on the front of a 993?

235/40r18 are a great option on the front of our cars, helps reduce understeer and has no fitment issues.

235 shouldn't be a problem. if 2wd no issues, if AWD, just check the ratios, but still should work as I have 235/295 on my car with no clearance issues and its lowered to RS +10, i think

When running 235, do you recommend sticking with 265 in rear (for NB) or at that point should the rear go a little wider too?

I have run 235/265 for years as this tends to be my go to size, many options from a manufacturer perspective and the car's balance is excellent.

Also from a diameter perspective they are identical for those C4 owners.

The 235 is a little taller than the stock 225, correct? If so, do you notice that difference?

Any need for an alignment when moving from 225 to 235?

Yes in most cases about .2 of an inch, and based on the revolution per mile data it equates to a difference of 7 revs per mile, essentially no difference, well < 1%

No real need to adjust alignment or anything when going from 225 to a 235.
